What an evening. This is the first chance I’ve had to sit down and write this.
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to run today. I knew I should probably take a rest day, but I also wanted to put in a few more miles before the “official” end of the week. I wasn’t surprised, though, that I overslept- or at least slept through the cool part of the morning. I was pretty tired last night.
This afternoon, I found myself bored and I decided to go for a run. When did I start running because I just happened to be bored? I have questioned my sanity quite regularly since I began running, but I think this officially means I’ve gone off the deep end.
Anyway, since the humidity is up and it was hot, I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill. I was actually fairly optimistic, going into it- thinking about pushing myself to see if I could run for 30 or at least 20 minutes solid. But, after I’d warmed up and run for 7 minutes, my legs let me know that I really probably should have taken a rest day! My right calf muscle gave out on me for just a split second- I barely faltered but I definitely had to catch myself. Then my left quad and left hip started feeling a bit sore. I slowed my pace to a walk and was feeling fine within just seconds. But, I knew enough not to argue. The rest of my workout was a mix of slow jogging and walking. Not the run I’d hoped for, perhaps, but that was okay. Still a good run.
Total, I ran 2.3 miles in 35 minutes. Tomorrow will definitely be a rest day! Don’t wanna push myself too far!!
