today’s intervals

I am truly crazy, I think. I mean, why in the world would I push myself like this if I was totally sane?

Today I ran, again- 2.61 miles in 40 minutes. It was on the treadmill at 24 Hour Fitness. Today I interval’ed. I walked 5 minutes at 3.0mph to warm up, then ran 5 minutes at 5.0mph and 1 minute at 6.0mph. I repeated that cycle 3 times. Then I treated myself to a nice long cool-down. 5 minutes at 5.0 was tough, and 1 minute at 6.0 was even tougher. Especially as my legs got tired- I was barely able to complete that 3rd cycle!

I’ve been sore all day, too, from yesterday’s strength training. That probably made it a bit crazy to run today, but the run felt good (in a sadistic kind of way!). I’m still a bit sore, though much better than I was this morning, and it will probably be gone by tomorrow morning. And tomorrow, believe it or not, there’s a reasonable chance I’ll wind up at the gym again tomorrow. Why? Insanity, I’m sure.
