Thank goodness for Blackberries. My computer is giving me trouble but my trusty Blackberry is working just fine.
Today I went to the gym. It was actually quite beautiful outside (around 60 degrees Farenheit) but I am just self conscious enough that I didn’t want to run outside. Since it’s Saturday, I figured everyone would be home, and I just didn’t want to be seen. I’m no fool- I know that when I’m running, I’m not at my most attractive. Besides I’m awfully slow when I run, and I’m huffing and puffing and- well, let’s just say the treadmill was much more attractive.
I had downloaded (I thought) a couple of audiobooks to my mp3 player and was looking forward to trying those out. I thought the books were each about 2 hours long but quickly discovered (d’oh!) they were only 2 minutes long. So much for that- luckily I still had plenty of music on my mp3 player. I should check one of my external hard drives upstairs- I think I have most of the Bible on mp3.
Anyway, I was back to running with music, and just plugging along fine. I was honestly planning a long run- somewhere in the range of 2 hours or 8-9 miles. Unfortunately it didn’t quite happen that way! (warning: TMI ahead!) I was about 50 minutes into my run when I felt a bit of a gurgle in my intestines- a telltale precursor to diarrhea! I slowed down a bit and felt ok, so I told myself I would run for 10 more minutes (1 hour total) and then stop and reevaluate. But a few minutes later, at 53:30, that intestinal gurgle returned and I wound up making a mad dash to the bathroom. After that I opted not to tempt fate and went home. I may try for a long run again on Monday.
So total, I ran 3.64 miles in 53:30. Still not a bad run, even if it wasn’t what I’d hoped.
