My morning certainly began well. Since it’s Tuesday, I stumbled out of bed at 4:30 am to go to my 5:30 am yoga class. One of my “guilty pleasures” of Tuesday morning is a stop at QuikTrip on my way to class, where I buy a small Diet Coke. I know it’s not the healthiest beverage choice, but hey, it’s 5 in the morning. That little caffeine kick helps!
Anyway, today when I pulled into QuikTrip, one of the employees was standing outside smoking a cigarette. I greeted him with as much enthusiasm as I could muster when it’s 5 am and I’m still half asleep. I went inside, got my drink, and took it to the counter to pay for it. That employee (who by now was inside) was behind the counter and said, “Don’t worry about it”. My slightly sleepy-fuzzy mind didn’t quite understand these words, so I said, “I’m sorry?” And he repeated it- “Don’t worry about it today, I got it covered”. As in, don’t worry about paying for the drink- today it’s free! Talk about a great way to start the day!
I went to the yoga class and it went quite well. It was a little warmer today, both inside and outside. This wasn’t an official “hot” yoga class, but definitely a “warmer than usual” yoga class, and it felt good.
Afterwards, like usual, I went out to breakfast and then picked up Sadie for a walk. It was a beautiful day out and so nice to be outside. Sadie was adorable as usual, and it just felt so good.
I came home and showered. My afternoon was a bit more difficult- I was trying to take a nap, but my “nap” was interrupted several times by phone calls and I never really was able to sleep. I’m still feeling a bit groggy, but it’s been a good day and I’m happy. I only hope tomorrow is as good!
