Wound up not running today. Not good, I suppose, but I don’t think it is bad either. I don’t want to burn myself out after doing that 1/2 marathon last weekend.
I am signed up for the Hospital Hill Run, but I almost forgot about the Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury. The Amy Thompson Run has been around for as long as I can remember, and when I started running last summer, I knew I wanted to do that run. This run supports the Kansas City Brain Injury association. I had a brain injury a little over ten years ago, and I support the KCBIA with all my heart.
So, it looks like I will be doing both runs. They are less than a week apart, but the Amy Thompson run is shorter- 8k (5 miles), as opposed to Hospital Hill’s 13.1 miles.
An interesting side note- the Amy Thompson Run is on Ward Parkway, the same road that my last half marathon (Rock the Parkway) was on. It’s not as long, of course, but that was a very pleasant route to run!
