3.68 miles, 19 degrees

I am TIRED tonight!

It’s good-tired, though. I decided today that I just couldn’t make myself do another workout on the treadmill (I am so fickle toward that thing!), so I wrapped myself up in a sportsbra, tank top, long-sleeved shirt, full-length running pants, running socks, shoes, gloves, and a hat. Plus of course my trusty iPhone and armband. It was 19 degrees Fahrenheit outside, and I ran 3.68 fantastic miles. It felt wonderful to be outside, even if it was cold.

I did decide, especially at the beginning of my run, that I would have really liked a balaclava or scarf to wrap around my face. Also, without really thinking, I wore a pair of below-the-ankle socks, which resulted in cold ankles. 🙂 This is knee-high compression sock weather!

I’m glad I got out today, because the forecast calls for rain and snow on Friday and Saturday. I still hope to get out on Saturday for a long run, but that’s looking iffy right now.

  1. I’ve found that a thin layer of vaseline on my forehead and cheeks (I have a beard) really insulates against the cold well. Also, oddly, it helps to spread it on my nostrils.
